Wii Tip: Some SD cards can get stuck

Just a tip for Google to index: the Sandisk Ultra II SD+ (Plus) cards can get stuck in it’s SD slot. I had trouble removing mine, to the point where I removed the SD compartment door, then used a tiny screwdriver to tease the card out of its slot. I’m uncertain now whether the slot is spring-loaded or not. Either way, just be careful, and if you can’t remove your SD card from your Wii, be patient and you’ll get it out eventually.

  1. I had exactly the same problem, and the same solution.

  2. Hmm, well, it doesn’t seem to happen every time; I tried it again yesterday and it popped out just fine – it is spring-loaded. I guess sometimes the springs don’t load, or something.

  3. I have the same problem. Spent 10 minutes tonight finagling my only 2gb SD card out of my Wii.

  4. My Kingston cards get stuck, but my Lexar card goes in and out smoothly, I think it is due to the thickness of the card.
